Decanted for a couple hours and didn't really budge. Bright, tart and a short with the deeper profile just starting to emerge. Leathery cherry, strawberry, and raspberry. Right now really just hits on one note (the front). More Syrah like flavors of smoke and tobacco linger in the finish. Nice now but believe it or not needs 5 more years.

Last consumed 1/2/17. It has not changed. The wine seemed very slightly better when I last tasted it in a Les Impitoybles "young red" tasting glass. See my last notes.

The wine has an inky dark garnet color; opaque; still purple on the rim. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, chassis, black cherry, some herbs de Provence, spice, violet, dark chocolate and cigar box from the oak. Velvety in the mouth - the fruit is so rich, big and powerful that the underlying tannin seems well abated. Great structure. Consumed from a Les Impitoybles "young red" tasting glass. Score 94-95.

(Corliss Estates Syrah Columbia Valley) An aromatically appealing wine with vanilla bean, ground coffee, dark fruit, a light gamey note, and barrel spices. The palate is very soft, full of dark fruit flavors, abundant barrel accents, and beautifully integrated tannins with a finish that continues on and on. Stillwater Creek Vineyard. Aged 30 months in French oak (65% new). 15.4% alcohol. 313 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.

A wonderful Washington Syrah. Definitely not past it’s peak. Drink now and enjoy!
