Some Wine Tasted Watching the Chicago Air & Water Show (Chicago, IL): From 6L bottle. Enticing aromas of mature black fruit, warm earth, sweet spice, faint cigarbox and interesting mint. Surprising depth for the vintage on both nose and palate. Good flavors to start, just slightly bitter/ drying on finish.

A lot of Wines at Tommy's Clambake (again again) (Tommy's): From magnum. I presumed this was OTH and skipped it but everyone kept saying it wasnt so after about four hours I tried it with some apprehension. Very nice showing. no pity points or cool factor. This was drinking very well. Cassis and cherries, some spice. Light tannins. Not great complexity but certainly some. Good balance. Well done.
