Best showing yet, decanted 3 hours. Plenty of fruit still, plums, dark berries, cassis, a bit of wood and pepper. Medium to full bodied with tannins still present. Not particularly complex, but a nice Cali meritage that has come pretty right.

Decanted for 2 hours, back into cleaned bottle. This is still a pretty big wine, but time is being good to it. Full bodied with sweet, ripe black and blue fruits and berries. Some spice and dust, tannins showing still but now help the wine's balance. Best bottle yet.

Brown-tinged purple. Funky nose took a while to blow off, then showed blueberry, pepper, and earth. Full bodied, thick blueberries, rustic tannins, some heat, baking spices, and a nice long finish. Probably just past its peak, so drink up.

Showing better than last bottle 18 months ago. Decanted for an hour and back into cleaned bottle. This seemed much more balanced than before. Lots of sweet ripe black fruit, tannins still, spices and a bit of cedar. It seems all the parts have finally come together, at least this bottle. Really a nice bottle of wine that didn't require food. Looks like the ct drinking window needs to be extended. Glad to have a few more.

Inexpensive Cali Bordeaux blend that is finally settling down despite the estimated CT drinking window. Dark fruit, chocolate, spices, showed pretty well with some decanter time.

(Dry Creek Vineyard The Mariner) Very dark ruby color; ripe cassis, ripe berry, ripe plum, light cedar nose; tasty, tart cassis, black raspberry, ripe plum, cedar palate; drinking fine now but would benefit from a year of bottle age; medium-plus finish (48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc; 26 mos in French oak, 52% new; 14.5% alcohol)
