  Decanted for over two hours. I was concerned that the nose indicated the bottle was at the end of its life. This was not the case at all, however. The wine was youthful, and it could easily go another 10 years. Very bright for the age. The most dominant taste was graphite. My father loved it.

  I like the comments below. Particularly dense, blackberry, sandalwood. This is a ripe wine that has great balance and is drinking beautifully right now. Decanted and Paired it with Sunday night burgers.Last class was best class. This one will age beautifully.

  This is really opening up and very pretty. Still a bit primary but developing nicely. Dense, dark purple color. Nice interplay of black berry, florals, wood spice and ripe fruit. Intoxicating scent begs you to smell this repeatedly revealing cedar, sandalwood, black raspberry and a touch of vanilla. Concentrated blackberry fruit on the palate that is framed and constrained by some woody tannin grip on the medium length finish. Very good intensity of flavor. I’d expect this to soften with further age. Really nice wine with a long future ahead for those that have additional bottles.

  Soul-searching in Napa. Beta-Jasud, Roy Piper, Detert, Elyse, Diamond Creek, Favia, Opus, Gargiulo, among others!; 1/17/2022-1/22/2022: Tasted with Tom at Dakota Shy.
  
  Wasn't able to take detailed notes, but this wine was still so youthful and vibrant. Tons of earthy character, dark fruit, and structure left. The color had lightened just a touch compared to the 2016 next to it, but you could have easily told me this was a 3-5 years old.
  
  Based on my experience with this bottle, there's easily 10 years left in the tank, but this wine is drinking so well right now.

  I was anxious, given the last couple tasting notes. Immediate and hypnotizing nose reflectting that unique (at least to me) patch of the vineyard. Needed about three hours in a decanter - befoore that it felt a little off balance with the alcohol up front. But then it resolved. Went insanely well with pizza, stood up to the acidity of the sauce. On the other hand, with brussels sprouts it tasted like a chemistry experiment, so I'd advise against that pairing. Has time left, definitely.
