Quite expressive and open for business, this beautiful Pomerol showed a layered texture with absolutely delicious dark red fruits and excellent floral lift. Just a joy to drink this now although it will last.

The 2000 Clos L'église was the poster child for the importance of decanting wines in their prime. For sience I drank this wine over 2 days. The first day I poured half the bottle in a decanter and placed the wine with a vacuum cap straight in the fridge. For the first hour the wine was closed and very barnyard-y which concerned me but I pressed on. After an hour or so the wine really opened up and revealed a blueberry bread, leather, prune, etc. cacophany. The palate was much the same with a more austere and spicy edge. I really enjoyed this wine and will definently grab more if I see it. 94+

Right Bank vs Left Bank Bordeaux Through the Decades (Charlotte, NC): Opened at 8am, slo-ox for 30 minutes, then recorked until 6pm, double-decanted off the sediment and slo-ox until serving at 8:30pm. Most complex nose of the flight – floral and rustic. Plush on the mouthfeel with a balanced profile of red raspberries and barnyard notes. An extremely elegant wine with plenty of flavor. Long finish. Stood up nicely between the two big Cabernet wines in the flight. One vote for WOTN.

Bought on release. Plenty of dark fruit and coffee notes. Soft and silky. Nice balance. Touch of alcohol on the finish
