From magnum; very nice aged barbaresco with some dried red fruits, mushrooms, leather, damp earth, and mint. The palate is a little tired, but did flesh out a bit with air and was certainly enjoyable.
Let half of this sit for a day in the cellar and then brought back up to pair with a mushroom galette; the air was good as this was definitely better; the nose was a bit fresher with the fruit more prominent. The palate was also better with a bit more flesh and seemed in better balance. Amazing how sometimes a day or two of air can really improve older Italian wines.

Lots of finesse. Nebbiolo was guessed right away. Raspberry is evident. Very elegant, but tannins are present and silky. Guessing the age was tricky. Pale color, but overall showed younger than its 35yo.
Gorgeous wine. Amazing longevity.
Labeled as Bricco Asili which is the winery in Barbaresco owned by Ceretto.
So technically it is Ceretto.

drank at my nephew Jack's HS grad dinner, enjoyed by all, wine was alive and kicking with good acid, still some significant tannin and plenty of sweet fruit... very very nice, wish i had a couple more
