Opened and decanted this took maybe 30 mins before it opened up into a beautiful floral nose and spices. More secondary than the last time I remembered. It was a pale tawny colour. On the palate now hints of cranberry and pomegranate. Simply delicious and disappeared quickly amongst 3 of us.

Was not obvious to place this into Brunello tasted blind today. The wine was light and fragrant, very good complexity and polished mouthfeel. Great to see it was a Soldera. Wonderful. 96+

My first Soldera: Slow-oxed since noon for dinner. Truly a magical wine. I was commenting that it had an expensive wine smell which I think can be attributed to carefully managed VA, and actually it had a similar nose to Rougeard. The nose was so beguiling that I took a long time before tasting it, in case the palate didn't match up. But the palate did not disappoint either - a sweet, sexy and ripe wine without coming across as spoofy or overly polished, with the firm tannins of Sangiovese. Words don't do it justice - this is a wish-you-were-here wine.

Brilliant Italian that showed up at a Musigny tasting and almost stole the show. Kept evolving in the glass till the final strawberry kirsch.
