  • Brought to an Italian wine tasting where PNP was the only option. Knew ahead of time that this was a coin flip but and at the very least would be interesting to try.

Ah-so got the cork out in one piece and once the initial funk blew off, we were rewarded with a surprisingly robust amount of fruit. Absolutely delicious and tasted like it could go many many more years. Super fun to try.

  • A birth year wine... for my mother. Opened on Mother’s Day to celebrate. I stood the bottle up for 3 weeks and decanted about 3 hours. It could have been 8 or 20and either would have been fine. The wine held up impressively well. The cork came out in one piece, fill and capsule both looked good plus.

It’s rust colored throughout and transparent. The nose is really potent, with saddle oil, varnish, new leather, and tar. It softens further over many hours. Rose petals peek through. It has bright acidity and a surprisingly decent amount of red cranberry fruit. In other words, not completely tertiary, and it still had some structure. No wonder the wine kept so well. Very impressive

  • 10+ hours slow ox.
Very musty when opened before heading off the work.
Initially quite inexpressive, following a half hour in the glass quite complex, tar and roses, blood orange, tea, confection, charcuterie, spice, soy, red berry fruits still shine through, continued to freshen up with time in the glass, balanced high acidity and still quite a bit of tannic reserve, long finish with hints of rubber. Quite saline mineralite. Overall a complete, balanced, elegant, graceful and quite lovely wine.

  • slight weakness in the mid palate , but otherwise an incredible mature Barolo

  • The nose was subdued but remained young. The structure was still good, with strength and fruit. Pity that we underestimated the wine and have not enough time for it to breathe. Drinking through 2.5 hrs, it was gradually developing quite beautifully. This wine still has potential for some years. (Note: my bottle was in excellent condition. The cork was intact. We didn't need an ah-so to open it)
