Drunk at McKay's Steakhouse at The American Club Hong Kong - It's interesting reading the prior CT tasting notes for this wine: 'needs time', 'overly acidic', 'shut down'. All of these comments speak of a wine that needs plenty more time in the cellar. Before I tasted today's bottle, these were indeed my expectations as well. This bottle was not that. Very open, quite resolved and with the acid present but not overwhelming. Probably more advanced than you'd expect from an '08 Meo Grand Cru but it goes to show bottle variation isn't all bad.

- Crimsom color with slow forming legs and aromas of blackberry. It's overly acidic and has flavours of black currant and yoghurt with a light/medium body. Linear texture with a medium finish.

A great grand cru but lacks a bit complexity and depth of scent.

Drinking well and reflecting the development of cellar time. Nice, round fruit and spice with a touch of oak and citrus. Great nose and long finish.
