No notes taken. Popped and poured. Consumed over two hours. Initially, a gorgeous nose of violets and candied black cherry. Flavors of cherry, a touch of grape bubble gum, and spice. A touch of rustic tannins. Moderate complexity/moderate finish. The wine slowly declined with air and then plateaued. First glass was the best glass.

Medium ruby color, some cloudiness. Nose of old cherry, violets/floral notes. Elegant palate, dusted black cherry, licorice, herbs, spice and garrigue. Would describe it as a dusty/rustic wine. Showing nice secondary notes at this stage. Medium/light weight. Not much on the mid palate, medium finish.
Nicely aged, in a good spot at this point, would drink over next few years.

Lafon 1er Cru and Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée Aux Brulées Dinner (Les Nomades - Chicago IL): Bonus bottle. Consistent with prior notes, I've always liked this wine but never found it to live up to other comparable vintages of Meo's Clos Vougeot (one of my three favorite producers of Clos Vougeot). Meaty and dense, certainly with good fruit and spice and balance, but less nuance and structure than I would like.

Tasted at a La Paulee Lunch. Medium garnet. Nose of red fruit and spices a touch of earth. Good presence on the palate with long finish. Nice, but a touch rustic for my taste.

Bit lipstick aromatically. Hard extracted palate that lacks sweetness.

Dinner organized by Mark T - Generous group of wine enthusiasts, BYO evening, outstanding chef's tasting meal (Vic's Restaurant - New York City): Generous contribution from Jeff P. Wine had been open +/- 90 minutes by the time we got to it.
