The Verticals Tasting at 2023 La Paulée (Eventi Hotel, New York): Ruby. Nose on the riper side. Medium weight. Moderate intensity dark red fruit and earth. The tannins reach (and probably erode) the gums. Now this has Clos Vougeot structure in spades! Excellent potential for well down the road.

Very expressive with lots of stem, stewed cherry and metallic iron and nail polish on the nose. Good weight and viscosity on the palate. Bright acidity with a balance of red fruit and minerality. For such a vaunted vintage, it's quite curious. Interested to see how this goes in a few years.

Sweet soft dark red fruit, violets, some animale which might have had me guessing Gevrey if served blind. There’s depth to the fruit, but not yet any dimension and very little tension. I think this will be much more interesting when secondary characteristics develop

Of course this is a wine to hold for many years. It is also good to see how it is now. It is by far the best of 2015. Excellent floral and spice nose. A smooth texture on the palate. Flavors of everything good from a red burgundy assembled with balance. Long finish.
