Impromptu Friday night at Maison Dakota with easties. Pop and poured. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of citrus lemon curd, limes, butter cream vanilla oak. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of green lime, citrus lemon curd, white peaches, stony minerality, sweet butter. Long finish. Very good quality. Still fresh. Nice balance with good proportions of all things lovely in a Chardonnay. Interestingly seems to have a bit more oak sensation than I recall Lamy wines having.

Flickinger dinner at avec River North (Chicago, IL): One of the best bottles of Lamy I've had in a while. This is the ripeness of 2009 combined with the leaner style of Lamy, yielding a large-scaled and generously proportioned, but ultimately balanced wine. I love the mix of sweet stone fruit and Lamy acidity here. What a fantastic and exciting bottle of chardonnay.

Robert Rolls Burgundy lunch 2023 (St John): Really sophisticated and lovely: delightfully soft, good depth of flavour, some biscuity development as well as the piquant St Aubin fruit. My favourite white today.

Hubert Lamy tasting (Utregs Wijnhuis, Utrecht, NL): Magnum. Stunning. Wonderful tension, floral, complete, steely and delicately creamy, complete and elegant, dreamy finish.
