Stood up for weeks and decanted off 2oz fine sediment. Light ruby, age-appropriate bricking for nebbiolo; soy, tamari, roses, some red cherry; palate is light bodied, elegant red and black cherries, soy/tamari, balanced alcohol (14%), medium-plus acidity, high tannins are a bit pronounced but perfect with pasta; medium length finish. Perfectly mature Rovellotti; I'm drinking up my bottles now though they will probably last 5+ years. 92-93

Standing for 2 months, decanted with a small amount of well settled sediment in the last 1oz. Light ruby, age-appropriate bricking; aromatic, red fruit, roses, red cherry; palate is light bodied, medium-high alcohol (14%), medium-plus to high acidity, red fruited, some early tertiary character with some slight tamari; medium length finish. Well balanced, great food wines, and I'm drinking through the rest of mine at a fairly fast pace. 93

Stood up for weeks and decanted with sediment in the last 2-3oz. 30 min air prior to tasting. Light ruby; aromatic, red fruited, roses, balsamic; palate is light-medium bodied, high acidity, high tannin but approachable, medium-plus alcohol (14%) but holds it very well, mature fruit with balsamic and black cherry; finish is medium length. Not warm but perhaps a bit richer than in a typical year. 93, ready to drink these now and over the next 10 years. (Mine won't last that long...)

Stood up for weeks and decanted, surprisingly minimal sediment for nebbiolo. Will give this some air as right now it seems a bit closed. 90 min decanted: Light ruby, slight bricking though youthful color for nebbiolo; aromatic, has definitely blown off some initial funk, showing mostly balsamic but also with some red cherry fruit; light bodied, high acidity, medium-plus alcohol (14%, very balanced for the vintage), tannins are approachable but still high throughout the palate, fruit is entering a more mature phase; finish is medium length. Very nice, seems like it's drinking well now but will also probably age for a while. Perhaps not as striking as my first few bottles in its youth, though with air this may continue to improve as it has since I opened it. 92-93 for now. 5 hours decanted: This reached a plateau. Very nice food-friendly nebbiolo-based Ghemme, a bit less showy than my last bottle 2 years ago but showing the balsamic character of age that I enjoy, along with a bit of tar and red cherries. I'll probably start drinking these and finish in the next ~5 years.

Same as my note a month ago. Great with a pasta dinner. More enjoyable for drinking now than a 2013 Chioso dei Pomi opened earlier this week. 93
