No detectable carbonation in this bottle. Somewhat less reduced than the last, too. Producer style is quite evident even without the more exaggerated hallmarks.

The tannins are smooth and all nicely integrated, making it surprisingly approachable for its age. The fruity aroma is charming, although it could use a bit more oomph to really grab your attention. On the palate, the different components don't quite come together seamlessly, but it's still enjoyable to sip on. Give it a few more years in the cellar, and this wine is bound to level up. With some extra time to age, it'll become even more fantastic, with flavors blending together.

This is still a baby but give it a few hours and it will reveal its clear cranberry, cherry, herbs, and coffee. It stood out in a lineup of comparable red burgs but didn't absolutely wow me. I'm going to leave my last bottle in offsite for as long as I can.

Lunch at the Librije (Zwolle, NL): [Restaurant purchase] As it was the last bottle of the lunch with quite some bottles, there was enjoyment about this bottle, but little attention

Trapped CO2 immediate apparent upon decanting. Reduction stays with it for at least two hours. Cherry, some herbs, and damp soil on the nose. In the mouth it's light, gentle, and a touch lively. Really good.
