Begins with smoky, backyard bbq brown sugar coated meat drippings. After 2 hours of air, the fruit starts to show: plum, raisin, leather and sultry tart fruit. The nose continues to show that oxidative, port character.
Drink now with plenty of air!

I really hate over extracted high alcohol bombs but even though there's some real slutty fruit here everything worked well together. Drinking very well now.

Probably starting its gentle slide as the concentration was not same as the previous bottle and secondary notes were more present. Still, this remains stunning with its array of earthy, peppery, garrigue, underbrush, lavender and kirsch notes. Rich, yet elegant in texture, the finish really hangs in there with its beautiful mix of ripe, spicy, sweet, peppery red fruits and earthy accents. This is probably best over the next 5 years or so.

First time drinking a Julienne and apparently its a RP100 wine. Clearly an overrated wine. Its rich, sweet and port-like without elegance. An overwhelmingly big and in your face kind of wine. None of the tasters enjoyed it. For similar style, sine qua non is a much better wine. The 04 Bonneau Celestins was much more appreciated tonight for its balanced richness and regalness.

Deep ruby. Notes of ripe berries, pepper, herbs, leather and licorice. Full body wine. Mid + acidity. Long finish.
