{Tasted with TS, EB, AM blind} Translucent red, touch animale to start, balance initially no perfect in nose, some volatile elements that blew off in 5-10 minutes. I initially guessed an older Gevrey and was blown away when told the wine was 45 years old. In a few minutes became very floral, gorgeous, smooth, no intrusive acids or tannins. Resolved. Pure, spherical, rose-petals, very pinote. Elegant and beautiful. Rated 93-94.
Open for 2 1/2 hours. Only faded a little bit by end. Nothing brown or funky or mushroomy in this bottle. Magic.
(mistakenly first uploaded to 1979, not 1978, my apologies)

In excellent shape. Garnet with brick red rim. Fruit flavors on the front end and harmoniously blended with cherries prominent. Soft finish. A true delight.

Second Sunday Group: Valtellina (Neil's): Opens with a cherry syrup note, followed by a sweet floral perfume with white currant undertones. Nice fruit on the palate, not at all tired or fading, with noticeable acidity. Cherry, currant and just a hint of orange peel. Balanced; long finish.

Wine was no longer drinkable. Clolor was a pale red, nose flat, taste largely gone.
