I'm not sure the exact vintage where the name of this basic Douro wine changed to just "Crasto", but I think it was a year or two after this vintage. The nose is loaded with bacon fat and spicy fruit. While on the palate there is still fresh fruit, tar, and smoked meat. The finish is a little short, but did lengthen some after a couple hours and has nice spices, cherries, and the acidity to keep it clean. For a wine intended to be consumed young this is holding up very nicely and is a pure pleasure to drink. 88 points

Spain and Portugal Tasting (Casa Roberts): light bodied. salty with soy sauce notes that I really enjoyed. darker fruit, plum, boysenberry, black cherry. some sweet spice also present. very pleasant medium finish.

Spain and Portugal (2033 Brandywine): Soy sauce. Very predominant. Some underlying berry fruit and plum. Good drinker. Some heat on the finish.

good concentration, vibrancy, and tannins....but a few vegetal flavors here and there add a bit of funk.
