Top year for the barolo 2010 from this small, symphatic estate in Piedmont. Fresh, good fruit, and a long, smooth and complex finish. PnP, best after a short decant and with food.

Drank much better on the 2nd day. Old style barolo. Maybe a bit rustic. Black tea, dried berries, bitterness, balsamic flavour, earthy, drying chewy tannins but not overpowering.

Like expected, a nicely early matured Barolo and with the added benefit of a clean and fresh vintage. Red in character, La Morra for sure. Traditional in style. Maybe not the most complex Barolo I have ever had but very enjoyable. Had it with mezze lune (like ravioli) stuffed with spinach and cheese, with sage, oyster mushroom, browned butter, kale and parmesan. It was meant to be.

Uno dei vini di Aurelio Settimi migliori che io abbia mai assaggiato. Potente, profondo e lungo. Veramente una bella soddisfazione. Tannino ben risolto, ma il vino ha ancora un discreto margine di miglioramento.

A lovely Barolo, mature enough to justify opening it. Didn't take much of a note but enjoyed it greatly with pheasant ravioli in brown butter.
