Drunk for dinner with cheeses. 13%. Deep garnet. Intense nose of Bramble fruits, smoked bacon, leather, autumn soil after rain and iron filings. Deeply complex and perfectly balanced. Benefitted from lots of air and still great after 4 weeks in opened bottle - so no rush. Just lovely.

Once again, a beautiful representation of a volcanic oriented wine. Showing really really nice structure, intense stone elements, stone, fruit, bordeaux like.

The 2006 Fattoria Galardi Terra di Lavoro is a blend of Aglianico and Piedirosso grapes from the Campania region of Italy. It is a full-bodied, structured wine with a long aging potential.
Appearance: The wine has a deep, dark ruby color with purple hues.
Aroma: The nose is intense and complex, with notes of blackberries, plums, raspberries, dried herbs, tobacco, and leather.
Palate: The palate is full-bodied with firm tannins and a long, lingering finish. The fruit is ripe and concentrated, with hints of spice and minerality.
Overall: The 2006 Fattoria Galardi Terra di Lavoro is a powerful and elegant wine that is well-suited for aging. It would be a great match for grilled meats, roasted game, or aged cheeses.

(GALARDI Terra di Lavoro) 2006 Galardi Dear Friends, This is always one of my favorite offer days of the year as it's the culmination of a great relationship and its maintenance throughout the years. This has been our most popular offer of the year over the past 4-5 vintages (by far) and I expect the 2006 to eclipse them all in interest - it's that good. This is one offer I have no problem advising everyone to splurge on - we have a lovely price and the wine is as direct as can be. Since the Wine Advocate debuted last month, I've been hounded by customers, wholesalers (and journalists for some reason) asking if we were going to offer the 2006 Galardi Terra di Lavoro - it seems our reputation for consumer-friendly pricing on this wine has many waiting in anticipation for the offer...here you go (but don't expect the one-time deal from last year for the 2004). One of the highlights of my spring stay in Italy every year is the chance to drink (I stress the word "drink", not "taste") the new vintage of Galardi's Terra di Lavoro. This year, I found myself in consumption - not the disease of Hippocrates but in a state of consumption with the 2006 Galardi. While the 2006 needs little introduction at this point, I will add my two-cents that this is most certainly the finest vintage yet produced by this small winery near Naples. 2001 vintage? Maybe but the 2006 has everything that venerable year had upon release plus the vines are five years older (and the overall style of the wine is far more regal and grown-up). With that said, this is our annual Galardi offer, one that has somehow taken on a life of its own. Our offer for the 2004 vintage a year or two ago was passed around and forwarded to so many collectors and countries world-wide that we received order requests from as far away as New Guinea I expect this to be no different. I will say this - the same price for the 2006 was not easy to achieve (in fact, it was almost impossible) and I ask that you let Niki know at your very earliest convenience if you have any interest: In my opinion, this wine will take its place among the reference examples of the modern Italian wine movement - give it time and you should be rewarded with an experience that is inspired by Lafite but has its hands firmly in the exotic terra firma of this special slice of Campania. A stunner. Ok, let's do the same price again - why not? VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price with impeccable provenance: 2006 Galardi "Terra di Lavoro" (Rokamonfino) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy7468
