Opened one hour in advance. Funky dark berry, olive aroma. Deep black fruit flavors, with leafy elements. Tart berry bacon finish.
I'd say this is fully mature and not showing obvious signs of decline - though some of the fruit may have receded. In any event, this is a well structured, dead on delicious red Rhone.

This wine is really singing, and as others have noted essentially a baby Cornas that has definitely benefited from a few years in the cellar and will improve further with a few more. The nose is classic Cornas in its melange of roasted plums, wild strawberry, black olive and grilled meat, with a violet top-note even making a fleeting appearance. On the palate the wine is rich, juicy and full on the attack, and just lacking a bit of follow-through on the lightly-tannic finish to score a bit higher. It may well be that with some more time in the cellar the wine's structural elements may recede, lending the wine a more seamless finish. Great juice.

Developing nicely, darker and more brooding next to a '13 Amis. Mellowed some in the 4 year difference. Deeper earthy notes but still maintains the fresh vibrant fruit.

What a pity... My last bottle. Hopefully I will find the '10.... Still a very special wine. In this bottle as if the grapes were still fermenting. A little turbid. Good acidity and a lot of cherrie and plum tart flavours. I'm glad to be one of Clape's 'Amis'.

What a great Northern Rhone Syrah expression! Fruity and full bodied. Very good balance. And the notes I wrote before on this wine still stand. Only one bottle to go.... a pity.
