  • Popped and pored; paired with Salisbury Steak. Nice purple color, and viscous. Nice Syrah fruit in the nose, nothing overpowering but very pure. Excellent palate, with acid perfectly playing foil to the rich fruit. Amazing how this producer makes such stellar wine from non-classified-area fruit. Yes they are more expensive than other wines from the same environs, but the quality in the bottle makes it a bargain. To me, Clape stands alone. Marvelous! 5-12-17-8: 92/100.

  • Method: pop and pour; well chilled; Cab glass

Nose: Kalamata olives, fresh mint, smoked beef, cherry, cherry licorice

Palate: slightly tart cherry; finish of slightly tart cherry, dry herbs, pepper; dry; medium body; medium tannins; medium+ slightly tart acidity

Update: gets less tart, more fruity, and less savory with air. I like it less the more it breathes.

Overall thoughts: Great, expressive, complex and savory nose. Not a ton on the palate in terms of flavor and structure. The palate is simple, but nicely balanced and very drinkable. Pretty great wine.

I liked it best right when opening the bottle. I don't think this is one to try to lay down.

  • Nose: barnyard, olive, eucalyptus, dark cherry, smoke meat, cedar, woodsmoke; fantastic and funky nose!

Palate: woodsmoke, charred meat, olive, barnyard; med body, smooth; high - acid; med + tannins

Overall: great notes, maybe a little tart but really enjoyable

  • Un vin agréable et super digeste. Beaucoup d'olive noir, du fruit rouge acidulé, peu de tannins avec une légère amertume en fin de bouche. Une syrah " Glouglou "

  • Brambleberry, tobacco, olive; rich in fruit but also a bit vegetal. Good acidity. Decant or hold
