A Mediterranean Island Sampler; 8/24/2013-8/25/2013 (SF Wine Trading Company): Medium depth. Wood and blackberry. Heavier than the rest with a ripe, cherry liqueur palate. Definitely hot. Cedary, short finish with just a tad of the herbal complexity of the other reds. In this line up, it sticks out like a sore thumb and is extremely New World and fruit heavy in style.

Very balanced fruity and elegant red with nero d'avola and syrah. Blueberries, ripe cherries, baking spices and peppers on the nose. The taste is smooth with fine tannins and low acidity. Hints of chocolade, coffee and menthol in pretty long taste. Great balance and structure which keeps high alcohol content away. Very drinkable today and highly recommended.
