Big unctuous wine. Nose of sultanas, rosewater and ginger. Delicious if a little over the top, though there is enough acidity to give it a fine finish.

Medium yellow. Toasted brioche nose with faint rose petal...just identifiable as gewurz. Thick mouthfeel with a broad shouldered entry and a slow burn build to a spicy, sugar laden mid-palate. Floral elements have receded now and this is showing a more complex, if less fruit driven, side than previously. A strong mineral streak, particularly present on the long final.
Acidity is not quite at the level that it needs to be for a wine with this amount of residual sugar, and some will prefer their gewurz with more fruit and floral character. I greatly enjoyed this though, and thought of Laurence Faller and her mother.

Medium yellow. Restrained bouquet. Palate is a step back from where I remember this wine - spicy notes but I am missing the fruit on this particular bottle.

Light yellow. Honeyed rose petal bouquet. Round entry blossoming into a complex mid palate of rose petal, honey, ripe apricots and a gun powder minerality. Sweetness is definitely part of this wine but well balanced with acidity. Medium final.

Delicious but maybe a little soft, reflecting the vintage, but still a most attractive, concentrated wine.
