What a beautiful wine. Reminds me of the '89 Rouget Echezeaux, it was that good. Earthy, spicy, full-bodied, complex, slightest hint of brett--in a good way, a great wine.

Another great '98 Burgundy! I'm becoming a fan of this underrated vintage. I found out that this parcel of Echezeaux used to be owned by DRC. Great complexity with nice tertiary notes. Great body and long finish.

Deep and full, this beautifully elegant Burgundy boasts a savory terrior driven nose of earth, toasty oak, mushrooms, game, and cassis held together by soft tannins and bright acidity. finishes cleanly and firmly. Nearing it's end, but still showing great purity, structure, and balance. Should continue to drink well for a couple more years.

gorgeous and elegant. Light, but not boring. Hint of tar as it opened.
