Elegant, well rounded, smooth wine; decanted 2hr; ruby with brick edges; dried fruit nose with earth and leather; fruit forward, stewed berries, low acidity, round, silky, medium to full body, medium/soft tannins, smooth long finish. Still drinking well.

10/25/15: Magnum. Upon opening color clear and "bricking" - taking a reddish hue a bit from 7 years down; aromatic black cherries, loamy and cassis to the nose. Medium sweet on the attack with low acidity with medium to low tannins, the palette is softw with good flavor balance between red/black fruit, cedar w a touch of wintergreen and anise w hint of asphalt/graphite. Finish is long in taste but not grippy. Looking forward to pairing with the NY strips tonight!

The Somnelier at the Broadway in Laguna Beach was very impressed. It was decanted for an hour. Excellent with our New York strip and Lamb shank.
