  • Subsequent notes on this wine from about 5 years ago. Medium reddish ruby in color with slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & figs with overtones of floral notes of roses & earthy/dusty notes, tar, leather, tobacco, mushrooms, minerals, spices, herbs & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & mulberries with herbs, cola, minerals & spices. Long lingering finish. Drinks well at present with extended airing but at 17 years of age, it is approaching its peak of development. Although it should hold here for several more years, I doubt any further development would occur. This wine has improved over the years & is quite an overachiever in light of its original price! Fill was in neck; cork was clean and intact.

  • 14.5 ABV. A gift from the Currado family years ago

Color: beautiful brown/red with viscous legs
Nose: Medium/full intensity; complex dried red fruits and berries with some spicy notes
Body/flavor: full body. Complex flavors of dried red fruits and berries with distinctive warm spices.
    Aftertaste: lingering

Paired with musroom risotto and Momofuku roast port shoulder! Dynamite

  • Drinking like a 1re cru burgundy. Frankly outshines the higher crus from this producer and vintage thus far. May be at its peak until it’s 20th birthday

  • The QPR is through the roof. At least for this vintage. Truly delish

  • Second bottle of this wine in less than a month. Very notable difference in the maturity. This bottle showed substantially younger in every way. Bright medium ruby, forward bright red fruit nose with some wood on the nose. Palate showed ripe very fine tannins, balanced with intense fruit leading to a long finish; drinking beautifully but still developing. Hard to believe the two bottles were the same wine, bought together and stored together.
