  • I am a firm hold on this one. A ton of potential, but the tannins are still very high here. Long decant required if drank now.

Nose is glorious and worth the price of admission alone. Red cherry, cranberry, and raspberry. Some cigar and tobacco smoke. A minty/menthol note. Floral. Autumnal. Slightly medicinal. Licorice and anise. Complex and deep.

The huge tannins shut down the wine on the finish for the first 90-minutes or so, but the high acidity helps keep it fresh and as the wine opens up it gets better and better.

A classic Barolo in the making that will reward the patience. 95-97 point potential.

  • Ruby red in colour. Floral aromas, red cherry, leaves in the nose. On the palate, full-bodied, structured at beginning. Afterwards, fruit-focused, delicate tannins, fresh acidity. The 2016 is already easy to drink and enjoy, but let’s expect the gift of aging.

  • This wine scored very well, and I do think it is deserved. It was a banger of a year that's created elegant and refined Barolos, young as they may be. This one is medium ruby, would have guessed it a bit older if blind, tasty now, but tannic, and has tons of potential, so as gorgeous as the nose is now, I’ll hold them for another 5+ years.

The nose is a treat: Stewed raspberry, sour cherry, black cherry, a lovely tangy note that’s like starfruit, black licorice, anise, some black fruit, already sense the underbrush, leather, forest floor, and wet tobacco, but the fruit is primary for sure. It may be a reach but I do notice some tree fruit on the nose, like a very ripe peach.

Palate has great promise but as of now is too tannic to really shine just yet. Medium bodied, big fruit, INTENSE cherry cola dominates, the finish gets a bit of cigar box, cedar, and baking spice. Quite complex as of now, but I really think this will shine in say the 2030-2040 range.

Drinkable and enjoyable now with a few hours decant, but also lots of promise for future. Cheers!

  • Ungefär samma noter som den senaste flaskan för snart tre år sedan. Upplever att denna inte ger ifrån sig aromer utan är lite sluten. Tunnel? Men mycket bra.

  • This is a very good wine. The nose was beautiful. Very floral, with some spice. Right now it is very locked down. Even after 5 hours of decanting it remains very tannic. Good red fruit, some roses, a bit of char, and a decent mouthfeel. I will wait 5 years, for the two remaining bottles.
