  • Deep yellow. Definitely mature, probably post peak. Still enjoyable burgundy butter, flint and precision. Would drink now. A bit underwhelming given the grand cru material.

  • Opened at the 4S in HK. Small glass tasting sample; bottle had been breathing for a few hours by then.

So this is declassified Musigny Blanc. Well... that wasn't great. Definitely not worth the price of entry and in my opinion, not a particularly good wine either. This has been on my bucket list for a while to try so was grateful to tick it off the list, but it really is a shame that Vogüé has the lion's share of Musigny but just doesn't seem to know what to do with it...

I am honestly confused by the other TNs here. What are you guys seeing in this wine? Perhaps this was a bad bottle, but I really couldn't tell any underlying quality here. No buttery, popcorn, brioche notes that you'd look for in a great white Burg, and no real distinctive style that made it attractive (think gunpowder and flint in a Coche?).

Don't think I'd seek out again unless was offered it by someone else. I hope to have my mind changed but this was unfortunately disappointing.

  • Discrete nose of lemon curd, with some oak and vanilla. Medium complexity. Good but nothing to write home about.

  • No. 00012. Ripe yellow fruit, peach, pear, great acidity for vintage, woody, stony. Impressive depth and length. Quite charming and elegant, with a strong core of power that sustains its linearity. 94-95
