I confess to being a huge Chenin Blanc fan, especially those from the Saumur area of the Loire Valley. I was hoping that this would be similar to the Breze from Clos Rougeard. It was not. Pnp, 12.5% abv. While the wine was good, it lacked the depth, finesse and complexity of Clos Rougeard Breze. Pale yellow hue with a palate of citrus. Good acidity and a slight viscous mouth feel. The wine began to take on some added depth after an hour in the glass.

On the palate mainly lemon with less acidity compared to the last bottle consumed a year ago, good length and structure, but a bit one-dimensional centered only on lemon.

Lots of lemon and acidity, pretty long, good volume (a bit hidden by the strong acidity). This is not a wine everyone likes. I do. But no idea in which direction it will develop.

Tasted Blind. A mix of bruised and fresh apple on the nose and a hint of chalk. Very Chenin. High acidity on the palate with again some apple, lime and a touch of pear. Fresh and balanced but very forward.
