A bit muted. Became more aromatic after a while, and took on the typical elegant and lightly sweet Michel aromas. But, I did not get much out of this bottle.

Julian's Chablis Offline: Something not quite clean on the nose here - old something or other, hay maybe. Quite distinctive. More typical on palate. Mineral but also quite rounded. Very short though. Falls away completely. Shows promise but doesn't follow through - I feel a bit shortchanged. ***

Mid gold with a healthy luminescent look. Powerful mature Chablis bouquet. This is just chock full of everything marine. Tidal pool, rotting seaweed, sea salt. Close your eyes and you are at the seashore on a hot day a few hours after the tide has gone out. This opens up and quickly fans out on the palate replicating the bouquet exactly, maybe with a touch of something quinine-like in addition. The balance is nigh on perfect with the acidity enveloped by fruit and glycerin, the latter giving this a sumptuous weighty feel, yet this remains refreshingly free of any alcohol notes (on checking the abv is stated as 12.8%). Great long finish. Excellent textbook Grand Cru Chablis at full maturity. Drink now and for a few more years yet, but no point in waiting if you have any as this is ready to go.
