Rich berry fruits, some blood plum and cinnamon spice. Dense heart of red and black fruits, some cedar and menthol and a long finish carried by ripe, sweet tannins.

Good balance, nice blend. Enjoyed with duck pate and Epoisses; probably went better with the pate than the cheese. This was a rich, full wine with well integrated nose and palate. I liked it and would purchase again, especially at a $17 price point.

I don't drink much Aussie Shiraz or Shiraz blends, but I do drink a lot of Rhone wine. This is kind of a northern Rhone style blend with the higher Shriaz content compared to Grenache. I found it bigger fruitiness and sweetness than many Rhones, which is not necessarily a good thing to my taste. This is a young wine and it shows. There are harsh notes on the finish and I sense the nose has not really found it's song. It is a bit jumbled because the sweetness is kind of blurring some of the individual characteristics of the wine. I will give the other bottle a couple more years before revisiting.
