  • Has a biting or sharp character - and I see this on nearly every bottle produced - it's not bottle taint. GSMs should be a bit lighter and a bit more fruity - but this is sharp, and not in a good way.

  • Nose is quite pretty here with red berry fruit, some rubber, some florals, and a touch of smoke. And as it crosses the palate, it's quite nimble and light to medium in body. Red fruit continues with a hint of spice. Not lacking in fruit by any means but very restrained - I think I've had Cali pinot's that were bolder and heavier than this. Med+ finish and Med+ acidity would make this a nice food wine as well.

  • Love GSM wherever it comes from but Barossa has a special place in my wine collection. Langmeil really hit a home run here. Great Cherry maroon colour produces a bouquet of cool blue raspberry and wood spiced leather. A burst of moderately ripe raspberries, plush tannins on the palate intertwine with creamy oak and a plumy finish. This wine is drinking well now but has the potential to develop for a few years. Decanted for a good hour in the bottle with additional time swirling in glass.
