  • looking fresh under screwcap. Bright raspberry fruit with some tar and leather development. It has good flesh and density and there's still good chew to the long finish.

  • This is still unmistakably an Australian wine with a bit too much "petrol" still on the nose. HOWEVER, for my palate this is drinking perfectly right now. Perfect tannins, earthy, hint of mint, and clearly displaying Old World characteristics. Is it an outstanding wine? No. Is it a very enjoyable dinner/after-dinner wine with taste and modest complexity that far surpasses its $15 price point. Yes, without a doubt. It continues to support my hypothesis that the trick to the "value" Aussie wines have a sweet spot that if you can hold on to them for just the right amount of time they really deliver. The challenge for me is finding that right amount of time.

  • Opened and served right away. Medium garnet colour with some bricking towards the rim. Attractive nose showing signs of development with notes of rich and juicy red and blue berry fruit, herbs and hints of tobacco and funk. On to the palate with flavours of rich raspberries and red currants with a good amount of blueberry pie too, but then the finish comes across as tart and slightly thin. This is medium in body with decent acidity and fully resolved tannins with a soft mouthfeel. After being open for 60min both the nose and palate became sweeter and the finish seemed to smooth out and lose the tart/thin profile and became sweeter as well. While I wouldn’t say this is over the hill, I’d drink it sooner rather than later. Very good.

  • Fading fast. Drink now. i agree with Sniffy-Sniff. This wine is past its prime. Nothing wrong but the fruit has really faded out and the finish is very short.
