  • Consistent with previous note - no bottle variation from previous. Very enjoyable.

  • I took a flier on a few bottles of this at auction. Given the age and lack of tasting note history on this one, I was just hoping that it had enough life left to be an enjoyable weekday drinker. Opened into a decanter - considerable sediment. The wine had a cloudy bright brick red appearance making me slightly concerned I'd missed the boat. Upon inspection the nose was nice and earthy. Tannins had integrated very well. Lovely notes of sour cherry, fresh mushrooms, and a very nice balance. This was really a pleasant surprise and glad I have a couple more bottles of this. I'd guess this is about as good as its going to get and I don't see this developing further so will look to drink the rest in the next year. Will look to try some of the other vintages in the future.

  • Medium light red. Great Tuscan Sangiovese nose of earth, rubber and dark cherry fruit. Delicious black cherry and earth flavours and a perfect earthy dry finish.

I opened this bottle at 6 am for a luncheon and after slow oxing it for two or three hours I decided to ditch it and bring a 2000 Baricci. Later with dinner this wine was fabulous.

  • Gift from my neighbor at the Presidio Wine Bunkers. Very nice gift! I feel like I understand what Brunello is all about now (for a beginner of these wines.)
