Dunkelgold, Etwas schüchterner Nase aber Feuerwerk im Gaumen. Perfekt gereifter Chardonnay. Opulent, gras, intense.

From JV's perfect cellar of high risk white burgundy. Super fresh, floral, clean, pure. Subtle matchstick but more so easy going white flowers and light yellow fruit. Pleasant spice but relatively restrained wood. Well integrated and about perfect for the age. 92 - 93. No proper notes.

Compared to the 1996, this was a touch more tropical and not as subtle. The palate felt more about power and didn’t have the same minerality.
