Don't expect your typical burgundy or - worse - CA chardonnay. Nothing against Cali chards, but this is in a completely different class. This is a sublime, elegant wine. The color approaches golden. The nose is floral, slightly sweet with a rich depth of almond. The palate is remarkable. The initial attack replicates the nose. But, the hits just keep on coming. The palate extends from front to back washing the taster with layer upon layer of light fruit, honey, melon. And, with 20 years of aging, there are slight hints of earthiness. 45 minutes after opening, the wine continued to evolve, revealing some vanilla, brulee. This was an experience.

Ripe, round and fresh with zippy acidity on the finish. Tropical nose, lots of pineapple. Took 30 minutes to open up. Delicious.
