Again, I just don't get Italian whites. This is musty and borderline offensive with air but the palate shows clear unripe peaches. Tons of green peaches. Meh, this is like sloppy Sigalas for 5x the price.

Madonna di Campilio Ski Trip; 1/17/2014-1/19/2014 (Madonna di Campilio): On the start this was a touch too oaky, however it shed that side as it developed into more grassy, light citrus side. Given the story behind the quartz terroir, we expected it to be more mineral to be honest but still once the oak blew off this was a very pure and balanced wine full of character. Could use some more depth but still pretty solid. 89-90

Mild cork taint spoiled this party, though the wine was very much alive.

Gorgeous gold, still fresh, sturdy and workmanlike with little distinction from a $24 Sancerre. Big pass at $50.

Sauv. Blanc and Merlot Night (Bear and Star, Los Olivos, CA): Needs a few more years to shine. A clean saline nose, no grass; a fine cool climate SB, sharp, herbal, still primary.
