PnP: Dark Crimson. Lots of dark berries on the nose. Fruit and pencil shavings. short finish. After an hour open not much left to it. Disappointing overall.

Nose: heavy-scented, blackcurrant, mushroom. Tasting: soft onset, some fruit sweetness, blackcurrant. Stingy transition towards climax, dry tannins, notes of unripe fruit - sour currant, sour cherry. Some spice, pepper, licorice. Long, warm aftertaste of vanilla and blackcurrant. Pleasant wine with distinct qualities. Not supercomplex, and could perhaps benefit from some more fruit. 88p

Very classic nose of blackcurrants, pencil shavings, oak, cigar box. Palate is still a little young, but a lovely depth of black fruit, good acidity, and spiced oak. The tannins are a liitle pronounced but the fruit more than compensates. The finish is nice and long with a sweet blackcurrant and spiced oak, a very enjoyable and solid wine from the appellation and when you consider the price around £36 to buy now @farrvintners stunning value. . It shows that you don't have to spend silly money to get a very good #claret and well worth seeking out to try and #giveanewwineago #burgundynick 89 points
