  • Opened this for opening day with carnitas. Not a great cork, but the wine beneath is absolutely spectacular. An array of fruit ranging from riper pineapple and stone fruit to tarter citrus and apple underpinned by slatey mineral notes. There's a honeyed and lightly spicy tinge to the flavours, but whatever botrytis is here is really understated and plays a background note to the fruit and minerality. Tremendous balance and length, and I only hope my other/last bottle of this shows as well.

  • Quite fresh for an auslese**. With air this featured more herbaceous and fennel top notes to ripe citrus, peach and damp rocks. Not very fat or rich. Swishes around easily in the mouth thanks to the very very fine minerality and acidity.
