  • Classis Oakville Napa Valley. 2002 Impresses yet again with its depth, length and sheer concentration. If I closed my eyes I swear I was in the middle of the Oakville district looking up at the rolling hills that bookend each side, east and west, of the valley. THAT is what aw wine is supposed to do my friends.

Color: A deep crimson with red edges

Nose: Wafts of cassis, cherry, subtle yet redolent oak weaving between the fruit, with a nudge of dusty mocha.

Palate: The cassis and cherry unfold on the palate and strengthen through the mid palate to push through for a 45 second finish. The tannins are perfectly aged right now as you notice them slightly coating the cheeks and tongue. Perfect with a nicely medium rare NY Strip.
