Drinking very nice at the moment. Consistent with the bottles of this I have had over the last 4 years. Perhaps slightly lean tonight, but still solid PC character.

Drank Thanksgiving 2011. Took about an hour to come around, then very solid, nicely balanced, structured and spicy earthy PC level Nuits. Nothing green about it. Worked great w/ the food. Better than the last bottle of the same I had in '08. Looking forward to see how the rest of them evolve, but probably not wines to hold beyond the next 5-6 years.

Trying to check on a few 04s. This is nice and a great bargain at $28. There are some "green" elements on the nose and palate but they were in no way bothersome to me. The aromas were great. Earth and spice. Not sure what the green element was. Had this not been an 04 I would equate it to whole cluster. On the palate there is lots of fruit. Mainly red fruits with good ripeness. Still a bit wound up so I will let my other bottle rest another 4-6 years.

Smooth red fruit with a long mid mouth and creamy texture. Nice pepper and minerality but a bit of acidity that mellowed with a few bites of a delicious stew. The rich palette of fruit reminded me a a Sonoma PN but with an elegance and floral aroma that is often missing in those wines. Would be nice to watch this evolve but alas only the one.

Howard Ripley 2004 Burgundy Tasting (St. James Club, Piccadilly): Ripe red fruits on nose. Good depth and tannic structure on palate, ripe strawberry fruit, good finish. Very promising indeed.
