  The 1959 La Tour-Martillac is a very attractive dry Graves, offering up an attractive bouquet of grilled peach, candied lemons, a hint of smoke and some Barsac-like barley sugar. On the palate the wine is properly textural, quite large-scaled, and showing no signs of cracking up. The vintage has endowed this wine with the stuffing to cruise along for some time to come, and the white here is actually holding up better than the corresponding red.
