  • Eight years old, still as tasty and fresh as before. No heath.

89 pts

  • This is a refined Barbera, with an elegant nose displaying hints of dark cherries, earth, sipces, violets and other floral notes. The palate is very balanced, juicy, downright delicious, and yet restrained enough to keep this decidely out of the realms of fruit-bombs. No, sir. This is elegant, restrained, and very fine. The acidity cuts through (as you expect with Barbera), making this a great wine for pairing with barbecues and spicy foods. From now until 2013.

  • Gobs of mouth coating red fruit (especially cherries), supported by a nice refreshing acidity, some liquorice and herbs and just a hint of wood. Sweet tannins. Very balanced (much more so then the 2003 Rivertti or Boglietti Barbera's). More fruit even then the 2001 and just as balanced.
