  • This shows some green notes on the nose. Luckily there's also enough dark fruit (prunes, cherries) and some kirsch and coffee to keep it interesting. The palate offers spicy dark fruit, with undertones of somewhat bitter coffee and a hint of kirsch. This is ripe enough to warrant a bit of ageing. At present still primary and somewhat hard. Certainly not a failure in light of the vintage, but no match for the excellent 2001.
