A light to mid gold appearance that belies its years.
A rich oak, lemon butter and peach nose. Definitely older school Aussie but really appealing.
On the palate the oak and lemon butter mix with a creamy texture, with white fruits joining before a still sturdy acid line brings the wine to the back of the mouth.
Incredibly fresh for an 18 year old wine which must be down to good storage, great winemaking and of course the screw cap closure. The slightly short finish may indicate that the fruit has faded slightly but it’s still a lovely wine and a steal at the heavily discounted price I got it at.
I’m not sure if some were closed under cork. If so I expect you may have a very different wine at this point in its evolution.

Similar to my last note. Thought this might be starting to fall over but it is holding together very well and feels like it might go a while longer. Developing a lovely softness and roundness that isn't at all flabby, nice balanced oak and great texture.

Closed under screw cap and incredibly fresh.

Based on my last note I thought it best to finish off my last bottle. Much better, still quite full and round but felt a better balanced wine.

Past its prime for me, a bit flabby and unbalanced, showing a bit too muck oak and fatty fruit.
