  • Screwcap and looking really attractive clear straw colour.

Three of us remarked what a wonderful Chardonnay nose this wine has. Its a good mix of ripe stone fruit with underlying vanilla oak.

Initially the palate is rather restrained but after an hour or so opens up more with perfectly ripe peach and nectarine flavours with some nice melon and citrus in support. After some more time, the wine really shines with more voluptuous ripe fruit. And with the last glass of the bottle it actually got somewhat sweet fruit dessert but still with good acid to cleanse the palate.

Its no more than medium-bodied but totally enjoyable for the transformation journey it takes you over a few hours (if you can resist drinking it all). Very good QPR in its day, haven't bought it lately.

  • Starting to open up, well balanced. Showing some richness on the middle but still has a nice tight finish.

  • This bottle showed a bit more age than previous bottles. A little darker in the glass and showing more oak on the nose. Grapefruit flavour initially with refreshing acidity, more complex, less tight and mineral than previous showing slightly more oak. Long racy finish - cleansing and refreshing.

  • Cracking drop - very tight on the palate. Fine minerality with a long finish showing well integrated oak. Doesn't show much age at all so has a while to go.

  • Australia Wine Trip; 9/20/2009-9/21/2009 (Margaret River): Ripe yellow fruits . Racy styled, new world style with fresher and cleaner grapefruit citrus notes. Not as interesting though as I last remembered though but still good. A subtle wine.
