This bottle exceeded expectations provoked some good old wine talk. Went oh so well with lamb roast. Well balanced with lots of depth. Solid wine at great price.

Dark maroon color. Medium-full body. Thirty minute decant. Lots of red and black cherry fruit, as well as hints of chocolate and tobacco. The fruit is still fresh and nicely ripe, the acidity is crisp, and the tannins are smooth. Everything is proportioned well, and it makes for a very satisfying drink. Reminiscent of a Nerello Mascalese from Etna.

Alternative Varieties Tasting: Perfumed florals, orange peel and raspberry. Medium intensity fruit on the palate, some tannins give it a bit of grip. Good.

Medium cherry red color. Scents of strawberries, raspberries, and green foliage. An interesting blend of sappy red fruit (more currants and sour cherries than berries), tart acidity, and just the right amount of oak to not overpower the fruit. A bit green but unique and impressive overall.
