This was surprisingly Burgundian in character. The color was fairly light, and the body was relatively light as well. However, there was sufficiently fruit, acidity and tannins to make the wine serious, delicious, structured and fresh. The notes of ripe red berries, jam and spices were nice and appealing. All in all, not bad at all.

Much lighter style of Xinomavro than I’m used to, but certainly nice. More reminiscent of a big Cru Beaujolais. Nose shows bright red raspberry, sour plum, wet cedar, baking spice and some slate. Zingy acid on the palate with barely discernible tannin. Nice, but unexpected take on the grape.

I had another bottle of this recently, but this time it took a long time to open up and was actually at its best the following day. I have a few more bottles but I’ll wait a little while before opening another.

Tart red berries, good acidity and tannic structure. A bit of spice and a long finish. Nice now but I think it has the structure to age. Pretty good value for money.
