Fantastic Alexander valley cab with old world restrained balance of fruit and tannins. Shows some age and complexity now, integrated fruit, some of the wonderful creamy crushed black currant fruit, velvety fine but yet structured tannins underbrush, minerality with good acidity.

Opened and decanted 1.5 hours ahead of bacon-wrapped meatloaf. Perfumed nose of blackcurrant, blackberry jam, chocolate mocha, and cherry pie. The palate is medium, round, textured, and rustic, bringing a juicy core of brambly blackberries, huckleberries, and raspberries with rich milk chocolate, coffee, dried leather, and pipe tobacco into an extended, refined finish. Tannins and acidity in near perfect balance with fruit delineation. Possibly in its prime drinking window. Drink 2021-2024. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

Magnum. For me this was a mid-80s score wine, but it was a mid-90s for the dinner guests - they *loved* it.
