The Woodward Canyon Artist Series is one of the most reliably excellent and affordable Cabernet Sauvignons from Washington State, that drinks well young and ages beautifully. At 16 years old, still opaque purple with an inch pour. Bright acidity, ample tannin, and deliciously fruity black currant, raspberry, and black cherry. Very refreshing, mouth coating, and finishes with a terrific spike of flavors.

Could not keep my hands off the last bottle. Remains very primary, with lots of dark fruits, black tea, a hint of menthol, and some espresso through out. It is very dark in the glass. Has a long finish, tar and tannins dominating. Solid but not over done.

This has improved nicely with time. Still dark in the glass, and has classic cab flavors of black fruit, hint of mint and herb, and that Washington spice. Tannins integrated, but still primary flavors. Has another 5-10 years easily, at least in my cellar.

Very enjoyable. It's possible that this wine is in its ideal drinking window: showing the benefits of aging, but still youthfully exuberant.
